design a single family home to fit between two existing buildings.  the site is roughly 22’ x 80’.  can be either 2 or 3 floors.  programmed rooms are:  kitchen, dining, living, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and laundry.  parking for at least one car must also be included.

 

[process]

my rowhouse was an investigation of ways spaces can better communicate with each other.  i was interested in developing the idea of openness and lines of sight as types of communication.  i proposed that being able to see into multiple areas of the house at once will promote the inhabitants’ understanding of how the spaces work in relation to one another, thus making the communication between them more clear.
